War Horse Play Retrospective

Here it is.  The retrospective of the Lincoln Theater production of War Horse!  I type this while having the last of the zebra marshmallows and realizing that Part 2 was posted almost a month after the first... Shoosh.

A game review of Equestriad 2001 is also on the list.  For now I am off to watch the latest episode of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, and see the latest updates for horses with results from the Splash White test.

And lastly.  SEE THIS PLAY!  It was amazing and lovely and won several Tonys including best play.  It won for a reason and you won't regret it.  ^_^

Update on Lack of Update

Hi again!  So the first video of the War Horse Play Retrospective is complete and on YouTube.  And it kinda has been complete and on YouTube for awhile.

It's missing piece, the second part, is still in production, but with some hope, will be done possibly later this week.  Premeire Pro worked very well for the first video and like many Adobe programs, decided to not be so consistent the next time around.  Plus some things going on in my life like teaching a Chainmaille and Metal Weaving class at my alma mater have taken over more of my free time.

Also, UC Davis just released a test for Splash.  Commence the equine genetics enthusiast enthusiastic freak-out!

War Horse more updates... um... again

Creative title I know.

So the voice recording for the War Horse Play Retrospective is all done!  And a got a new video editor for the holidays.  Bring on the learning curve!  A fun fact is I got Adobe Premier Pro and one release of this software had a horse on the box cover.  That gives it extra points for coolness right there. 

It's the little things people. 

It's a whole lot more in depth than Windows Movie Maker.  I'm suspecting the video to take longer to create than desired.  So while I attempt to unravel the crazy complicated features of this new software I give you a Mo preview of baby Joey.

 So on the subject of War Horse, the movie is out and I will be seeing it with family and friends hopefully some time this week.  It's had wonderful reviews across the board so I'm excited.

In the mean time Heather/Beautygirl1510 sent over a video including 3 things that I never thought would be together. Bad Horse's right hand man himself Neil Patrick Harris/Dr. Horrible, an Equus reference, and Joey the War Horse puppet.  Check out all the Tony awards!

"Horse Trailers" War Horse Update!

So a week or so ago I was walking in the mall (I really don't do that often honestly) when I saw this on practically every ad kiosk in the place. That's a new War Horse movie poster and it will be out in theaters within two weeks on Christmas day. Is your holiday enforced shopping done yet?

I can't help but notice they gave Joey, the horse, digital hair extensions. Gives him that more dramatic Friesian-y appearance. Not that I have anything against Friesians mind you. But goodness knows if they came in more colors Hollywood would use them exclusively. I know a place where you can get that bit too... at a, um... pretty Friesian tack store.

Ok the Friesianfication of horses in movies should be for another post. Though I have to say I don't know why a horse in the first World War would be wearing a Portuguese curb bit. I may need to let rabbitsfizz rant it with all the other historical inaccuracies from the trailers alone.
